Lakes Area Theatre is the food truck equivalent of theatres. We are a pop up theatre. They have been popping up in wineries and other theaters in western Minnesota. The audiences have loved this show. We are excited for the opportunity to have DEAR JACK, DEAR LOUISE here at Pioneer Place.

Inspired by the true courtship of his parents during World War II, playwright Ken Ludwig’s Dear Jack, Dear Louise tells the charming and heartfelt story of Army Captain Jack Ludwig and Louise Rabiner, an aspiring actress in New York.

Introduced by Louise’s father, Jack and Louise begin exchanging letters despite never having met in person. As the war continues and distance keeps them apart, their correspondence grows into a remarkable love story filled with humor, longing, uncertainty, and hope.

With warmth, wit, and emotional honesty, Dear Jack, Dear Louise explores how connection can flourish even across great distances and difficult times. This intimate two-person play is a celebration of resilience, romance, and the enduring power of human connection.

Remembering the 90's show on MTV called "Unplugged" may be a bit difficult so that's why we relive it right here. Let's go.

Just like we remember when MTV played music and cut the cord. MTV Unplugged was a television series that showcased the biggest musical artists of the 90s. These musical performances were filmed and recorded in front of small audiences and as the title implies, the bands played acoustic instruments. The sparse stage set-ups, subdued lighting, and acoustic arrangements made for some of the most memorable live performances of the decade. A theater setting is ideal for this presentation. This show will showcase the best of those shows.

Crossroads Revisited celebrates the iconic Eric Clapton live era of 1986–1991, recreating the sound, style and atmosphere of the legendary concerts that culminated in the celebrated 24 Nights performances at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
